Simon Oh is a Collaborative Pianist with a high passion for collaboration with various intruments/voice. He is a second-year Master’s student at the U of O, majoring in Collaborative Piano, under the guidance of Dr. David Riley. He always seeks to be a trustworthy musical partner, who can truly support the soloists. Throughout his Master’s program, he has been a graduate assistant. As a graduate assistant, he has accompanied in various studios.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea, majoring in Music Composition. Due to his background in music composition, he interprets the pieces with a deeper understanding of composers’ intentions. He is also familiar with contemporary music, which he has learned throughout the undergraduate program. With two perspectives on Music Composition and Music Performance, he pursues the ideal harmony between a composer’s desire and a performer’s desire.
